What’s it really like inside a Psychedelic Mirror Maze?

Amusing And Amazing: Come get tipsy from a trip into a psychedelic mirror maze in San Francisco! 🥂😉...
Mirror Maze
Mirror Maze, San Francisco

Walking through a mirror maze might sound like a silly thing to do in San Francisco, the city with the renowned Golden Gate Bridge, a historical prison on an island, the supposed crookedest street, and all.

I’ve been to Pier 39 several times but had never stepped into the mirror maze on it. This time while we were there, I thought we’d check it out, hoping the kids would enjoy it. It was my first time in a mirror maze and I must say, I don’t think it’ll be the last time. 😬

That was a whole lot of fun! Go to the official site of Magowan’s Infinite Mirror Maze and you’ll be told that it’s ‘easy’ to get to the maze but finding your way out is not going to be! How would it — if you’re in a cluster of spaces that are walled with mirrors, each lit with colorful lights, creating an illusion of being in a tunnel and engulfing you in a psychedelic experience?!

In an effort to find your way out you’ll constantly be bumping against mirrors that deceive you into thinking you’re walking down the colorful tunnel and when you make your way out of one space you feel like you’re being swallowed by the mirrors. 😀

The illusions, colors and psychedelic feel of the place sure make Magowan’s Infinite Mirror Maze an amusing corner in an always-interesting city.

Much like the bridge in international orange, the colorful painted ladies, the clam chowder in Boudin bread bowls and the hot fudge sundae of Ghirardelli Square, I think this mirror maze is a place I can go back to again (and again, maybe.)

Mirror Maze, San Francisco

Magowan’s Infinite Mirror Maze

Magowan’s Infinite Mirror Maze — the one in San Francisco is situated on Pier 39 not far from the carousel. It’s not exactly in plain sight as the site tells you when it says, finding the Maze is easy; finding your way out is not. I used my google maps and put it on ‘walking directions’ to get me there as I walked along the marina. But if you’re already in the middle of all the action of Pier 39, look for the Piano Staircase or the Coca-Cola Staircase and make your way up to the floor above, and you should find it easily.

Have fun!

      Hey Abhisek, long time!
They are amazing. They look like tunnels all around you but they’re mostly mirrors. 😄

      Thank you for visiting. 🙂
